The Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 ended a century of ceaseless struggle by the Vietnamese people against the domination of the French colonialists. The victory phối the stage for Vietnam’s eventual national unification.

A resounding victory

Dien Bien Phu was one of the greatest battles of the 20th century. The victory is mentioned in many history books. It smashed the French military efforts & American intervention, & forced the French government to sign the Geneva Accords in July 1954, recognizing the independence, sovereignty, unity, & territorial integrity of three Indochina countries, ending centuries-long French colonial rule, và opening a new chapter in the revolution of Vietnam, Laos, & Cambodia.

French historian Ivan Cadeau, author of “Dien Bien Phu: 13 March – 7 May 1954", said: “The historic victory was a result of many factors. The ingenuity of the Vietnamese government was able lớn utilize and mobilize all resources & the strength of the entire people & army. Toward the future

Vietnam & France have been building a strong relationship based on deep ties between the two nations. France has been Vietnam’s strategic partner since 2013. The relationship is based on regular consultations and close cooperation in culture, security, health, & language. Hanoi"s metro line 3, for which France put up 500 million euros, is expected lớn begin operation late this year. The two countries have supported each other during the COVID-19 pandemic. Vietnam gave masks khổng lồ France in 2020 and France gave Vietnam 2 million doses of vaccine in 2021, và more this year. The French Development Agency (AFD) provided a loan for the expanded Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Project and for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in power nguồn generation.

Vietnam & France have cooperated in science & technology. An agreement was signed in November, 2021 between the Vietnam Academy of Science & Technology, the French National Center for Space Research, and Airbus.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son said: “The leaders of both countries agree that an annual action plan is needed lớn carry out the Vietnam-France strategic partnership. Home Tourism Dien Bien Phu Victory Historical Relic

Only 500km to lớn the West of Hanoi, the battle ground in Dien Bien Phu is a well-known site marking a victorious exploit of Vietnamese people in the Indochina War. It is located in a valley, surrounded by mountains, hills and paddy fields. The valley has a length of 20km & a width of 6km. This was the place where the courageous soldiers of Vietnamese army fought and won the 55 day battle (March 13th - May 7th 1954) against the French Union. The victory indubitable caught the attention of the international community, leading khổng lồ the over of the war in Vietnam after a few months. The most well-known remnants of the Dien Bien Phu Historical Site are A1, C1, C2, D1 Hills, Beatrice, Isabelle, Independent Hill, Muong Thanh Bridge, Muong Thanh Airport & De Castries Bunker. Nearly 30km away from the center of Dien Bien Phu City, the whole complex (including the shelters of Vietnamese army) situates in Muong Phang village. A 96m underground tunnel connects the working places of General Vo Nguyen Giap & Councillor Hoang Van Thai. As time marches by, the stairs leading lớn the place of General Giap are now covered with moss, giving the scenery a nostalgic look.
